Thanksgiving

Unfortunately, due to the Thanksgiving holiday. I won't be able to update the blog but once and that maybe either Monday or Tuesday... Any who, today's topic will be over the upcoming holiday of Thanksgiving.  Thanksgiving was first celebrated by the Pilgrims in 1621.Thanksgiving was a time to give thanks to Indians who helped them survive, and be thankful for the season's crops. The chief of the Indians that helped the pilgrims brought 90 Indians with him to the feast. The feast also included games, hunting rounds, and relaxation. The feast was made up of deer, turkey, fish, salmon, eel, lobster, wild fruits, berries, etc.
Thanksgiving was not made an actually holiday until a woman by the name of Sarah Josepha Hale wrote to President Lincoln in 1863 asking for Thanksgiving to be a national holiday. Lincoln had the holiday set up on the fourth Thursday in November. That's how Thanksgiving was born. So you can thank a woman for making Thanksgiving a holiday.
